Matsuyama Castle

Today started off on the thirteenth floor with a view out to the castle sat on the nearby hill over a spot of breakfast. We did however have to start from the bottom of the hill as the only exits from our building reach down to the ground.

Like Himeji this a defensible castle, not one just for show. There are little nooks where you can catch your enemy and rain down fire on them. From our point of view though it was good to see some artifacts that belonged to the castle being shown there, giving a bit more of a sense of place.

Lunch was an interesting affair, where we thought we were getting beef udon, and got fish mixed with rice, and coke comes with a sponge and red bean paste cake…
